Waste to Energy to Growing- WEG

Waste to Energy to Growing- WEG

For over 15 years, Enesys engineers have been researching the viability of expanding the benefits of the by-products of energy created by Anaerobic Digestion ( AD) to indoor growers. We believe bioenergy can be seamlessly integrated into growing infrastructure and within broader circular economies and sustainable precincts. Enesys sees bioenergy as a logical partner to the expanding protected cropping and vertical farming industries and as a key participant in the future of circular economies. Integrating three traditionally separated industries, Waste, Energy and Growing (WEG) offers the optimum resource connectivity to utilise otherwise wasted products, increase profit, and dramatically reverse ecological damage that is caused by the same industries acting in isolation (creating circular economies).Organic wastes, including food and Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) can be diverted from ecologically damaging landfill and mulch heaps and converted to fuel gas and passivated nutrient. The fuel gas can be used to create electrical power, heat, and chilling (trigeneration), carbon dioxide and water vapour which supplies a tightly coupled high density growing facility with a highly controlled climate, PAR lighting and nutrient delivery system.

WEG addresses three great problems

Waste
Australia is facing a waste crisis. In 2019 Australians spent $10.1 billion on food that ended up in our bins and landfill. Methane from organic waste in landfills is 21 times worse than carbon dioxide in its global warming potential
Energy
It is time to move away from our reliance on Fossil Fuels. The cost of energy is expected to increase by 2% per annum and the cost of our reliance on coal is creating havoc on our environment.
Food
Current agricultural practices account for a significant footprint on the environment with agriculture contributing to approximately 11% of total greenhouse gases, occupying 40% of the earth's surface and utilise 70% of global water. How will we sustainably feed an ever-increasing population?

We believe we can harness the synergies that exist within nature and link proved industrial technologies to create innovative and profitable closed-loop systems that: Recycle Waste Create Clean Energy & Grow Food More Sustainably

Etiam leo tortor finibus vel tellus a consectetur.
Our mission is to change how waste, energy, and food are processed to reduce reliance on remote fossil-fuelled power stations, broadacre farms, and large landfill or waste export operations.
Sustainable precincts can exist within urban areas so that communities and industry can recycle their own waste, create their own energy and feed themselves.

Our Waste Can Be Used As A Resource to Create Clean Energy And The By-products Can Help Us Grow Food More Sustainably.

NATURAL RESOURCE SYNERGIES
Waste, Energy Generation and Growing industries have enormous natural resource synergies, but the commercial and physical segregation of these industries established throughout the industrial revolution, as large monopolies, has placed short term profit before economic and ecological sustainability.Even without ecological necessity, there is a large wave of change driven by the need to feed and host expanding and resource hungry and waste-producing human populations that have created economic forces for change.
MISSING LINKS
Enesys has developed a suite of modular process control systems, called GrowLink™. GrowLink is designed to physically link proprietary packaged equipment, large industrial systems, and independent businesses together so that they can continue to operate their core businesses and activities more profitably while transparently partnering in a broader circular economy.
THE TECHNOLOGY GrowLink is composed of hardware, software and IoT enabled smart systems that have been developed by Enesys in Australia to physically link process resources with high-level control, automation, and data services that are typical in large industries like power, mining and petrochemical, to community and regional level businesses like waste recyclers, manufacturers, growers, packagers andcouncils. This level of process linking, automation and data management is typically only available to highly specialised and funded multinational organisations in power generation and petrochemical environments
WEG for waste producers
Abbatoirs, Dairies, Breweries, Food Processors, Food Waste Generators, Food Waste Collectors. Reduce and Recycle your waste problem. Save on Energy Costs Utilise redistributed heat Add food or animal feed growing facilities into your infrastructure- additional or separate business opportunity Reduce carbon emissions
WEG for growers
Traditional Greenhouses, High-Density Urban Farms. Controlled Environment Agriculture Increase growing productivity and profit Reduce Water Use Reduce on-site waste Access heat, nutrients and Co2 Reduce the need for herbicides and pesticides Reduce or reverse carbon emissions Reduce food miles Become recognised as a fully sustainable grower
WEG for councils & developers
Councils, Sustainable Development, Sustainable Precincts, Circular Economies, Inner Urban, Remote communities, Regional Communities Reduce and recycle waste. Create clean energy source, Save on energy costs Utilise redistributed heat Integrate growers within infrastructure Reduce carbon emissions Reduce food miles Increase food security Develop genuine circular economies READ MORE
