Services and Technology
Enesys performs Research and Development (R&D) activities and The Project Office (TPO) performs engineering, design, procurement, and management (EDPM) and equipment supply services for multidisciplined industrial projects. Both entities are owned by Norwood Technologies Pty Ltd which has commissioned highly automated processes in all industrial sectors since 1988. This is a summary of current projects involving leading-edge agriculture, energy, organic waste, and resource recycling technologies.
Unique Project, Energy, Technical, Financial and Environmental Modelling.
EOS- Energy Option Systems
The Enesys Energy Options System (EOS) defines, integrates, and predicts responses of environmental, energy and economically related systems applicable to any form of built structure from a single unit to a multistage residential or suburban development or a series of multi-storey commercial buildings with associated land use.EOS has evolved over 25 years of professional engineering consulting and design and construction experience from a series of highly engineered models of equipment, processes, economic feasibility and collected data bases. It has a highly graphic interface that responds visually andnumerically in real-time to system changes. The EOS can define energy outcomes at any location onearth by predicting solar energy, surface temperature, visible light and photosynthetic growth rate profiles forany hour of every day of the year. It uses this data toderive maximum, minimum and mean annual profiles ofheating, cooling, lighting and photosynthetic plant growthenergy.
WRS Bio
Algae Production
WRS Bioproducts – Stage 1 Algae Production. Enesys has been engaged by WRS Bioproducts Pty Ltd to provide Engineering Design & Project Management services to select suitable sites, assist with project technical and economic feasibility and funding opportunities, and design and construct a full-scale alga growing and production facility near Karratha in WA. WRS Bioproducts - Stage 2 Algae Concentration (TPO) WRS will install an algae concentration facility to process algae from various Stage 1 production sites. TPO has been engaged by WRS to provide EDPM services to assist with project technical and economic feasibility and funding opportunities and design and construct a full-scale algae concentration facility in Australia.
Farmwall
Automating Urban Growing
Farmwall Pty Ltd has developed a series of innovative “café style” urban farming modules that combine herb and microgreen vertical farming with fish (aquaponics). Enesys has successfully refit all existing Farmwalls with highly automated and self-protecting CubeLink control systems and comprehensive IoT functionality. Farmwall is solidly backed by Westpac and Mirvac to install Farmwalls throughout Australia and potentially larger whole floor/basement commercial-scale facilities. Enesys will introduce Organic Energy (OE) and GrowLink systems to these future urban farms
Vertical Growing
Design, Automation, Control, Energy Options and Project Management
Enesys was commissioned to design and construct a fullscale prototype of an automated high-density Growing Facility (vertical farming). The design, which has been completed but not yet built includes multiple Grow Modules and a Harvest Module. Each Grow Module has 10 vertically stacked growing floors and the entire system including nutrient management will be controlled by CubeLink. These facilities can be easily incorporated with GrowLink's waste to energy to growing model in which case, it could produce more energy that it needs. It is estimated that this Growing Facility can multiply the productivity of any protected cropping facility by a factor of 8 to 14-fold depending on the crop variety.
Pacific Bio Technologies
Algae
Pacific Biotechnologies - Astaxanthin Project (TPO) The Project Office in conjunction with Enesys was engaged by Pacific Biotechnologies Ltd (formerly MBD) in 2016 to provide EDPM services for its entire Astaxanthin Algae farming and processing project located on the coast near Ayr in Queensland. TPO performed civil, structural, mechanical. process hydrology, electrical and control systems for the project. The project is now running and TPO is performing commissioning of highly automated procedures based on full utilisation of Enesys’ CubeLink control systems. This project is a world class commercial scale testing ground for automated production of fragile algae grown in ultra-hygienic processes with an extremely low energy footprint. It is also a successful site for CubeLink which demonstrates its broader commercial potential within other industries. TPO was selected as a nominee for the IEAA Australian Engineering Excellence Awards 2018 for the Asta Project.
Pacific Reef Fisheries
Prawn Farm Expansion
Following the successful construction of the Asta Project, TPO has been invited to provide EDPM services to triple the production of the Pacific Reef Fisheries (PRF) prawn farm which is adjacent to the Asta site. PRF is Australia’s largest prawn grower. In this expansion, PRF will utilise algal processes to treat water (nitrogen and phosphorous bioremediation) before it is returned to the ocean and adjacent Barrier Reef. TPO will utilise its 30-year EDPM expertise in algal projects and install CubeLink extensively to facilitate this unique merging of the prawn and algae industries
